Dear Pug Rescue of San Diego Supporter:
It has already been almost TWO months since our May Party! Thank you to those of you who were able to join us for the fine day, and those of you who were able to volunteer your time to help out!! It is our greatest and most important fundraiser of the year and the pugs REALLY rely on its success. Time has flown since May 3 and the pugs keep on coming in! We are receiving more puppy mill pups with some issues, and we are also receiving more seniors than has been normal. They seem to roll in waves, which is why we are writing to you now.

We have a decent number of foster parents who are able to care for incoming pugs for short or semi-short time periods. And we are FOREVER grateful for the support that our fosters provide. There is NO WAY we can help the pugs that we do without our foster parents, so thank you! There will never be a way to properly express our gratitude.

We are writing now in hopes of finding a few individuals interested in (and able to offer) long term fostering. Our seniors often come in with health issues, some needing (and some not needing) ongoing medical support, such as medication or more frequent trips to the vet. These little darlings are (almost) always the dearest hearts but they aren't usually very good adoption candidates. So they need a place to rest their paws for their final year(s), or months. Sometimes we have younger pugs who are also permanently fostered, again usually with some health issues that make them not-so-adoptable. This is probably THE MOST rewarding job there is with our little pugs, even though it can be the most heartbreaking at times.
