Description: Meet Corky! Corky came to Pug Rescue as an owner relinquishment from a senior owner who was no longer able to care for him. Corky is a sweet, loving fellow, and he has been getting along great with all the dogs in his new foster home. He has been accompanying his foster mom to doggie day care every day, so he gets the chance to socialize with new dogs on a daily basis and he has done just fine. Corky has dry eye, and needs daily eye drops to keep his eyes healthy - update - since Corky has been put on a holistic diet, he has not needed his eye drops, nor have his joints been bothering him! Unfortunately, his eye condition has caused some vision damage, so while he can see, he can't see very well. Corky gets around just fine though, even with limited vision. He does have some arthritis in his joints, but having good food and lots of exercise has made all the difference for how Corky moves around. He has much more energy now and is becoming more playful each day. Updated info - 1/1/10 Corky is in a new foster home and has been placed on a holistic, organic, single source protein food with no grains in it and this has made a huge difference in his energy level and health. He has not needed eye drops, his tummy has been feeling great, and his arthritis is not bothering him like it was. He has much more energy, and is even trying to get his foster mom to play tug with him! Not bad for an old man! Corky does like to nap a lot, and would do best in a home that has lots of nice fluffy dog beds for him to spend his day lounging on, but he still has energy to play occasionally. He will likely do fine with a Pug sibling, but would also be just fine as an only Pug. Corky also gets along fine with cats, so a feline friend to nap in the sun with might be just the thing for him! The new food has done wonders for his coat, and it is now plush and soft, perfect for cuddling! Corky is really a sweet, loving pug and given good quality food it seems many of his health issues have become non-issues! Please consider giving this very deserving Pug a forever home in which to rest his paws! Contact us for more info on how to meet Corky! |
| New Beginning: Corky arrived at his new home and he was greeted like a celebrity, the entire block knew he was coming and they were all waiting for him with anticipation. Corky settled in very well at his new home. He had lots of toys, chewies and pillows waiting for him as well as a super excited and giddy new mom. Corky inspected every inch of his new domain and then settled next his mom in their favorite lazy boy. Corky has received many visitors since his arrival and there has even been a bit of a block dispute as to who would be baby-sitting him when needed. |
