Domo is a gigantic goofball. It's like living with John Candy. He has an unstoppable sense of humor, always smiling, always good-natured fun. He loves his toys, loves his food, loves his chew toys, loves his people. He even loves his brother-dog and cats.
Domo has a bad disc in his back, which affects his mobility but doesn't stop him. We're seeing some improvement with treatment, but it's always going to be an issue. It's most notable in walking: he wants to go-go-go, but he does better if you're patient and keep him at a slower pace. It also affects his potty habits. He is potty trained, but it takes him a little more time to "go" when he's taken outside, because he can't lift his leg and can't squat. He needs a little more time to get started, and then he "goes" while moving. Give him time, and plenty of visits outside, and he does fine. Prepare for accident times with a potty pad available.
Like any comedian, Domo has a lot to say. He is a barker. But he doesn't have a loud bark, and he has a cute bounce when he has his conversations. He does quiet down when things settle down, and will lay next to you quite contently. I look at the soft bark as a positive; no-one will ever sneak up on you.
He likes toys, does a decent approximation of fetch, and appreciates a good bit of treats.
Domo is just a great little guy, and would make a wonderful family member for the right family. |
