Special needs: Star will benefit greatly from eating a healthy diet |
Description: Star comes to Pug Rescue from an owner who could no longer care for her. Star's foster mom says she is a sweet girl and has been getting along great with her dachshund foster sibling and the cats in her foster home. Star is completely potty trained and hasn't had any accidents in her foster home! Such a good girl. She is being crate trained in her foster home and loves her bed. Star will even put herself in her crate at night when she is tired! She is doing great with training, and while she does bark a bit when new people come in the house (what dog doesn't?), she settles right away once she has said hello. We were told by her previous owner that Star was not always so polite to other dogs when on a leash, but her foster home has been working with her and she's doing very well. We think that Star will be a super Star with just a bit more training and TLC! She does get excited about other dogs, and barks when she sees them, but as you can see, she loves to snuggle with her foster dachshund sibling. Star had melanoma cancer on her back when she was around 2 years old. She had surgery and it was successfully removed. Since then it has not come back and likely won't. She has had occasional urinary infections but once treated with medication it went away. We have learned that a good diet will often keep urinary tract infections from reoccurring.
If you'd like to add this lovely Star to your sky, contact us to meet her. Update 6/3/10 - Star is doing fantastic in her foster home and responding very well to training. She is on a new food that has her coat looking shiny and wonderful and she is a sweet, loving girl. Star is hoping to meet her forever family soon. |
