Description: Meet sweet Shorty! Shorty came to Pug Rescue when his owner lost her home. She has had Shorty for three or four years, she rescued him when a family member found him chained to a fence. Poor Shorty seems to have spent much of his life chained up, and near other dogs who bit him. Shorty does have some scars on his ears and tongue where other dogs have bitten him and he didn't receive proper care.

Even though Shorty's rescuer had great intentions, and loved him a lot, she was unable to afford veterinary care, and Shorty came to us with infections in both ears, badly infected teeth, and pain in his rear legs. Shorty's ears have been cared for and are in great shape, he had a dental and unfortunately most of his teeth were pulled, and he is on meds for the arthritis in his legs. All in all, he's feeling pretty good for a 13 year old guy!

Shorty has settled into life in his foster home quite well, gets along with everyone and regularly wins the household "good citizen award" because he is so easy going and sweet. Shorty asks only for good meals (he eats only soft food because his teeth are mostly gone), some snuggle time on the couch and a daily stroll around the yard. Shorty is perfectly content to stay where he is, or he'd love to find a forever family of his own to spend his retirement years with. If you're looking for a low maintenance, sweetheart of a guy, think about making Shorty part of your family.
