Introducing Joe! Joe came to Pug Rescue with his friend Poppy, who has already found a home. Both dogs were relinquished by a family who lost their home and were faced with boarding their dogs for a month or more. Joe is a healthy, sweet guy and is scheduled to have his teeth cleaned. He does have a patch of fur missing on his head, we're not sure why, but the doctors are treating it with medicated baths twice a week. Joe, like Poppy, is very, very overweight, and has already started a diet and exercise plan to take off some of those extra pounds! Poor guy tires very easily since he is packing so much extra weight around. Joe loves to go for walks, gets along great with other dogs, and is a very sweet guy. We're not sure if he's potty trained, but so far he's doing well. He also doesn't really like to be picked up, but again, we suspect it is very uncomfortable due to his weight. Joe was in a home with many other dogs, and we don't think much time was spent really training them, so he doesn't know any basic commands like come or sit, but he's surely willing to learn! Joe is a handsome guy, but hard to take pictures of because he is always moving! Active and playful, we're just sure that Joe will blossom in a loving, attentive home.
