Medical condition: Recovering from flea bite dermatitis, losing his sight |
Description: Meet Teddy! Teddy comes to Pug Rescue from a few different owners. He was passed around a bit, and as you can see, not very well cared for. Yes, he is only three years old. Teddy came to us covered in fleas, his coat a mess, and itchy bites all over his skin. Teddy is also losing his sight, although we are not sure exactly why yet. Teddy has been bathed, treated for fleas, and will be going in soon to be neutered and have his eyes examined further. He is only 18 pounds and is very thin, so he's getting some extra meals in his foster home to help him get back in shape. Teddy has not had an easy life, and has never been an indoor dog. He is very sweet in his foster home, and his foster is working hard on crate training and potty training Teddy. This boy loves being in the house and hanging out with his foster dad! Teddy gets along great with his foster Pug sibling, and likes pretty much everyone he meets. Teddy is a perfect example of the resiliency of dogs, the fact that he still loves humans and really enjoys being cuddled really shows how loving his personality truly is, to still be that way after having such little care in his life. If you think you have room in your heart and home to show Teddy how good life really can be, contact us to learn how to meet this sweet boy. Update 9/2/10 - Teddy has been to the vet, has been neutered and examined. Our vets are still not sure of the cause of Teddy's degenerating sight, but they do expect him to continue losing it. He does have eye drops that help some, and losing his sight doesn't slow him down a bit. He gets around just fine, plays, and cuddles. Teddy is now pretty much potty trained and really a good little boy. Consider giving this guy the forever home he deserves! |
| New Beginning: Congrats to Teddy! He has convinced his foster family that he is so wonderful that he should stay forever! Enjoy your Happily Ever After, Teddy! |
