Description: Say hello to Ozzy! This cheerful 6-year old man is ready to find his forever home. Ozzy has come to Pug Rescue because his family recently suffered a divorce and could no longer care for him. He has lived with two other pugs for many years and would do well in a home with other small dogs.Ozzy absolutely loves to be loved. He enjoys snuggling with all members of his foster family; he also really likes when they give him a bath! Ozzy is great with children and other small dogs. His foster family happily reports that Ozzy is fully potty trained! However, when there was a new male foster dog in his first foster home, he did mark, but it stopped as soon as the other foster dog left, and he has been a good boy since then. Ozzy has a crooked toe from an old toe injury that does not seem to bother him. He is currently being treated for a few small sores from chewing flea bites, but they are almost healed. Ozzy is a little underweight, but his wonderful foster family is spoiling him with the best food money can buy in order to resolve this problem. He is the most loving pug and could not have a better disposition! This friendly gentleman just might be the perfect addition for your family, so contact us today! Update 3/13/11 - As Ozzy has settled in to his foster home, we've learned that he can be a bit protective of his yard and family. This is something that will need some extra training and redirection. He is very welcoming with invited guests in the home, but he does not like people leaning over the fence or walking in unannounced.
9/3/11 - Ozzy is such a good boy that his foster family fell in love with him and were going to adopt him. Unfortunately, one of their kids has turned out to be allergic, so Ozzy has been moved to another foster home. He gets along fine with his foster sister. He hasn't had any accidents in his new foster home & learned the doggy door really fast!
As we are learning more about him, it appears that Ozzy's over-protective behavior may simply have been a result of grumpiness after he was neutered. His house manners have been great. While he does take his guard duties seriously, he has never shown any signs of aggression since being in his new foster home. He has been to the dog park several times and has been a perfect gentleman.
He loves to give kisses and will follow you around the house and park himself near you. He was pretty well-trained in his former life and we are working to reinforce it. He is crate trained or will sleep on his dog bed near you although he prefers to sleep with his humans. |
