Description: Meet Otis. Otis is another of our "Strollin' Seniors" and his story is a bit sad. Otis came to Pug Rescue after his owner died and no one in the family wanted to take care of him. He came to us with a glass eye, so at some point, he was loved enough for someone to do that for him. It is kind of heartbreaking that this beloved companion was abandoned by his extended family.
Otis gets around well, even with his fake eye, but he also has limited vision in his remaining eye, so he can get startled. He does have a collapsing trachea, which is common in pugs, but he just needs an occasional dose of cough syrup to care for this. Otis loves to be in the house, and seems grateful to be allowed in as he spent quite some time in the yard on his own before coming to Pug Rescue. He loves to lounge in his dog bed, and enjoys hanging out with the other dogs at his foster home. He is a bit of a joiner, and likes to get on the couch if the other dogs are on it, and like to follow them around. At night, Otis shares a crate with his French Bulldog sister, and enjoys snuggling with her.
Otis is happy to hang out on his own and chew on a bone, and he is quite a talker when it is meal time. I guess he wants to make sure you don't forget to fill his dish! Otis is fine with children, and doesn't even seem to notice cats. One of his favorite things is to have his eyes rubbed.
Otis is not a demanding dog, and in fact, doesn't ask for much. He's happy with a comfy dog bed, a bone, and some cuddles. Please consider giving Otis his very own forever home so he can truly enjoy his golden years.
New Beginning:Otis, a long time foster here at Pug Rescue, found his forever home this week! We are thrilled for Otis, and his new family says he is settling in great, and gets to sleep in bed with his own 12 year old boy! What a great life for a Pug!
