Description:
Hi, my name is Pugsy. I am a ball of energy despite being diagnosed with diabetes. My tail wags a million miles a minute when I greet you.

I love to sleep on the bed and snuggle with my owner. I do get a little fearful when left alone but my foster mom has been working on that with me every day. I get along with other dogs that are not the dominant type. I am currently being fostered with two other pugs and I get along with them great.

I'll be the first one there to greet you when you come in the door, with my tail wagging like I haven’t seen you all day!

Pugsy has been diagnosed with diabetes and requires insulin injections twice a day. We can help someone learn the ropes of caring for a diabetic pug. There are also diabetic dog facebook sites which are invaluable for advice and support.

UPDATE: Pugsy was recently adopted but returned to rescue as he suffers from anxiety during transition periods. Pugsy chose a wonderful loving home but their work schedule involved regular travel which did not suit Pugsy well.

Pugsy has done fantastic in his former foster home although he will howl a bit if he cannot locate you. He will thrive in a home with someone who is around much of the day to reassure him. We will transition Pugsy into his new family with anxiety medication.

Loving boy will reward you with his affection and companionship if you can learn the ropes of diabetes and provide the extra attention he requires to help him thrive.

New Beginning: Rainbow bridge 8/24/18. Attacking other dogs on a regular basis.
